Be the Change by Thinking Big…..

Think big

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

 Marianne Williamson

Challenges are beautiful opportunities in disguise, I like to use the word possibilities and opportunities instead of the word challenges.  Our dreams, our passions, our purposes in life are opportunities with possibilities to shine.  If we sit back, it usually doesn’t come knocking at our door, we have to show up and truly live in belief with confidence that things are always working out for us.  It’s a matter of showing up in life that brings us closer to truly living our purpose.  By showing up, this brings more opportunities our way and each opportunity brings us closer to our goals.  This takes tenacity, persistence, desire, confidence and determination.

How badly do we want something?

I’ve always worked under the influence that if I want it bad enough – I can have it!  You don’t like where you live, the job you have, then do something about it. It’s that simple!  We instead use excuses and reasoning to not get what we truly desire.  We play small and at times feel as if we don’t deserve these things.  It’s time we change the way we look at things; time to investigate new possibilities and shine in the process. Time to stop thinking small and actually start living LARGE!  Going from a mentality of lack to a mentality of abundance.

Complacency keeps us stuck where we don’t want to be.  I believe it’s easier to stay in a situation at times than to actually change the situation.  Of course, FEAR gets in the way.  FEAR stands for False Evidence Appearing Real.  There are 2 human emotions that all else is based off of – FEAR or LOVE…..I chose LOVE!

We get scared of taking the leap of faith and actually jumping to new ground.  A much needed move may be exactly what will transform your life, but we stay stuck in the same place and it paralyzes us to non action.  Sometimes we end up complaining and we become victims of our circumstances.  Some other reasons of not being able to move on would be children, spouses, jobs. I say it’s time to stop using these people in our lives as excuses.  If we don’t like something then we’ll want and desire a change and the people you love will be there to inspire and encourage you to make those changes.  I assure you that the possibilities are out there; it’s our minds that can’t grasp that we can actually do something about it. We limit ourselves to thinking small – it’s time to think BIG! We must get out of our boxes and go play in this vast world that is before us.  Our minds have limited beliefs and if we could allow those past old beliefs to stay exactly where they belong in the past, then we could actually think a new way and allow things to happen!  The most important thing in life is that we feel good and by being the light that shines within you, that same light has nowhere else to shine but outside of you too!

Desire and determination WILL take you to new heights.  The paradox in life is that we can often stare for so long at the door which has closed; that we can miss a new one that has opened!

Life Will Always Be Working Out for Me. . .

I like understanding that things are always evolving, and while there are many things that could be better where I am, it is not really a problem because “where I am” is constantly changing to something better. I like knowing that as I look for the best things around me where I am, those things become more prevalent in my experience.

It is fun to know that things are always working out for me, and as I watch for the evidence of that . . . I see more evidence of that every day.….Abraham

Be the change by living your fullest potential…….

Remember, the possibilities of today excite us all!

  1. I enjoyed your insightful post. And I agree that we tell ourselves all kinds of stories to justify not taking action to change whatever’s no longer working for us. I think we fear endings. Someone won’t like us anymore or we’ll have to find a different job… Funny thing is, sometimes an ending is exactly what we need to spur us on to those bigger goals.

    • Hi Susan,

I love your perspective on endings and the reason for non-change; I agree that we do fear endings so we instead don’t end things and get in ruts! It’s funny you mentioned that someone won’t like us anymore – in that I like to add – “what anyone else things of you is none of your business.”

Every ending has a new beginning – even an ending of a belief system has a new beginning!

In gratitude for you taking time to leave a comment,

Great words to compliment Marianne Williamsons quote! Love it. I’m indeed getting out of the box to play in this vast world. I have always preferred shapes with pointy ends anyhow. As an aside, went to a Chinese medicine seminar Saturday and there was focus on shapes, so looking around the room, it was almost entirely boxes. A good reflection of how we compartmentalize our every day life?

    • Thank you David and glad you loved it!

Interesting you prefer shapes with pointy ends….as for me circles are my favorite!

Yes, we surely do compartmentalize our every day lives – could it be safety and security? Whatever the reason, it’s great to think BIG and live in expanded awareness…..

      Thanks for stopping by,
      In gratitude,

This is a really great article. I always could use a push sometimes in a more positive direction by remembering that if I want something, then go after it, keep going, and keep moving forward. There are always resources, and there’s always a way. Even if it takes some time. Thanks for a great reminder :)
