Thomas Jefferson stated, “Honesty is the first chapter in the book of wisdom.”
The definition of honesty is truthfulness, sincerity, or frankness. To be honest means to live in your authentic truth to yourself first, then to the people you interact with. This is the only way to live, this type of living keeps us centered in the truth and in the light.
It has been said that honesty is the best policy – This is a quality of being a great girlfriend that is truly honored. To be honest is to be sincere, truthful, honorable, fair, genuine and loyal with integrity.
So often we make statements when we talk to someone like, “to be honest”, and “just be honest with me.” Why do we have to remind someone to be honest – isn’t living in our authentic truth living in honesty?
I end this with another quote by Spencer Johnson, “Integrity is telling myself the truth and honesty is telling the truth to other people.”
So remember, honesty is the best policy!
In honesty to you,
Nancy
