I Will Listen

by Yvonne Serensky (ysky) - 11 months ago

I recently told a single friend of mine whose mother passed away right before Easter that I would always be there for her even if it was just to listen. Her mother was her best friend, she had always told me. They saw each other weekly and spoke daily ending their calls with "I love you, God bless you, I will always be there for you". When she called me to tell me of her mother's passing, I let her sob for as long as she had to while I just sat there quietly on the other end of the line. Sometimes, you don't need to hear anything from the other person, you just need to know that they are there for you and listening to whatever it is that you need to say or release. It doesn't take much energy to listen but I know that it is hard at times to find someone who will just listen. Because I am her friend, I will listen.

What a beautiful story of love and compassion my friend Yvonne - I am grateful that you were able to share this story of "listening" and "devoted friendship" with others.

I love the fact that her mother was her best friend - I also have that type of relationship with my children and feel incredible blessed!

"I will always be there for you"..... unconditional love my friend.

In light and love,
Nancy
