Birth

I have been sick for the last twelve years and only last year discovered what was wrong with me.
I have a very rare disease, in fact an orphan disease that most doctors have never heard of and little is really understood about it. It is associated with a genetic disorder, but that is not how I acquired it.
I gave birth to my beautiful daughter twelve years ago. The anesthesiologist was tired from doing a few surgery's before mine and did not warn me before attempting to insert the needle into my spinal cord. I felt the needle and instinctively lunged away from the pain. The doctor yelled at me and I was crying. I had two previous spinals/epidurals and they were done very different from this one. The doctor explained every step and told me when they were putting in the needle. The doctor said nothing to me and suddenly I felt a sharp unexpected pain in my back.
I told the nurses after giving birth to my daughter the next morning that I was strange. I was having some problems that I did not have with my other births and they kept giving me medication and saying sometimes it happened and I would be okay in a couple of weeks.
A couple of weeks went by and my problems were worse so I went to my general practitioner and told her what happened in surgery. She told me it would not be the cause of my problems and told me I was under to much stress and not enough sleep from new baby. This continued for six years as my problems became progressively worse. I changed doctors and went through many tests and I collapsed and was taken to the emergency room and finally diagnosed with this disease.
I was so angry. I still am. There is a statute of limitations for filing a lawsuit and it seems that this horrible incurable debilitating disease is what I am left with.
I am in a divorce and losing my medical coverage and trying to fight, but honestly when your in intense pain all of the time it is truly hard to fight.
I wanted to share this with other women out there who might have unexplained illness. They were trying to diagnose me with fibromyalgia or ms until they did an MRI of my entire spinal cord and brain and found that I had a cyst in my spinal cord.
The doctors do not want to acknowledge how I was injured and we have played a game of cat and mouse because I need treatment and medication.
